Farahan

Farahan rugs (also spelled Ferahan or Feraghan) are hand-knotted with fine, tightly packed wool pile (often from Persian fat-tailed sheep) on a cotton foundation using the asymmetrical (Persian) knot. They have a low, dense pile that feels firm yet supple and extremely durable. Modern Farahan rugs are primarily woven in India and Pakistan by skilled artisans, with some finer pieces still produced in Iran.
