Gabbeh

Welcome to the world of Gabbeh.

Gabbeh rugs (including Lori Gabbeh) trace their origins to nomadic tribes like the Qashqai and Luri in Iran's Zagros Mountains, where they have been hand-knotted for personal use for centuries using thick wool piles, natural dyes, and bold, abstract tribal designs. Known for their raw, primitive charm, they gained wider recognition in the 20th century. Today, while traditional Persian versions persist, many Gabbeh-style rugs are also produced in India as more affordable adaptations.
